How did you feel before the first Kopi Date? Run us through your pre-date thoughts!
J - I remember the pre-Kopi Date phase was pretty exciting and nervy at the same time! 🤪 To know someone with zero expectations going in; without texting or having in-depth knowledge about the other party, allows you to go in without any judgment.
Z - Unlike dating apps where you kind of know what to expect, Kopi Date’s anonymous setup creates a fun suspense build up to the date-day.
What made the Kopi Date experience special from other dates that you've been on?
Z - We had quite a lot to talk about during the first date, never a dull moment with Jolene! I really like the special touch of the experience kit that the Kopi Date team designed.
The kit not only helped break the ice, but also expanded our conversation topics. It enabled us to share more on a deeper and personal level and connect with each other.
J - The energy was fresh and authentic, as compared to other online dating app experiences. What I enjoyed most about the kopi date was that Zhen Yu and I had the space to delve into raw and authentic conversations in a setting that is comfortable for a first date.

What's the most memorable thing you recall on the first Kopi Date?
J - The Experience Kit for our date concept had a bonus date activity planned which was a fun surprise to us!
I recall asking Zhen yu if he would like to visit the museum since it was part of the date suggestion itinerary, and he replied, “No, it’s more fun chatting with you!” 🤪

What happened after the first date? Who made the first move?
J - After we ended the date, Zhen Yu graciously offered to send me home, and I texted him to thank him 🤓
Since our first date, we chatted for a few days and we had initially planned for the second date to be on a Friday, but on Wednesday he had asked me for an impromptu dinner (he couldn’t wait to see me 🥰)
How would you describe kopi date to someone who has never heard of it before?
Z - The Kopi Date experience is intriguing and really exciting because of the anticipation of the date – there is an uncertainty, yet a sense of boundless possibilities.
